Kitty Crossing Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026 · Applies to the Kitty Crossing app for Android (package com.aftersignal.kittycrossing).
1. Who we are
Kitty Crossing is a mobile game published by After Signal (Google Play developer account: "Hey Studios"), from Colombia. Write to us at heystudioscolombia@gmail.com.
2. Children
The game is for all ages, including children under 13. We treat every player as a child where ads are concerned. Only if someone wants to turn on statistics, achievements or the leaderboard does the game ask for the year of birth, to check they are 16 or older. That year is neither saved nor sent: the phone only keeps whether the check was passed. If you are a child, read this with an adult.
3. What we do not do
- We do not ask for a name, email, phone number, photos or voice.
- We do not ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone or file permissions.
- There are no Kitty Crossing accounts, player chat or user-generated content.
- Reminders: the game may show two reminders a day (the daily gift, an invitation to play). They are created by the phone itself, are not sent from any server and use no personal data. Turn them off in Settings > REMINDERS or in Android settings.
- We do not use the Android advertising ID: the permission is removed from the app.
- We do not show personalized or remarketing ads, and we do not sell data.
4. Data that stays on the phone
Your best score, fish, cats, cards, achievements, daily gift, run count and settings are kept in the app's storage. We do not receive them. If you uninstall the game or clear its data, they are lost. If Android backup is on, the system may include them in that Google account's backup.
5. Ads (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads between runs and optional ads in exchange for fish. Every ad request is tagged as child-directed, with the lowest content rating ("G", general audiences) and no personalization, for all players in all countries. Ads therefore depend on context, not on your activity. No consent for personalized ads is requested because there are none.
Even so, to deliver and count ads and prevent fraud, Google may process the IP address (from which a general location is inferred), technical device data, an app-specific identifier (app set ID) and interactions with the ad. We chose the most restrictive level Google offers, but Google selects each ad: if you see an inappropriate one, write to us. Tapping an ad may lead to Google Play or an external website.
6. Purchases and families
The game is free, with optional real-money purchases: fish packs and a no-ads pack. What each pack contains is shown before paying and does not depend on chance. Fish can only be used inside the game. Purchases are processed by Google Play: we do not see or store payment details, only confirmation of the product bought.
Parents and guardians: you can require authentication for every purchase in Google Play settings and, on children's accounts, require your approval with Family Link. Refunds are handled by Google Play. Ads with a prize are always optional.
7. Google Play Games (optional)
The whole game can be played without signing in. Only if someone taps ACHIEVEMENTS or LEADERBOARD does Google's sheet open to connect; until then the game sends nothing to Play Games. Once connected, Google links achievements, best score and a copy of the progress (fish, best score, runs, cats and cards) to the player profile, and other players may see the nickname and score on the leaderboard depending on that profile's settings. Google keeps that data, under its own rules for children's accounts. We recommend that an adult decides whether a child uses it.
8. Statistics and crash reports (off by default)
Settings has a STATISTICS switch that is off by default; while it is off, Firebase collects nothing. It is meant for adults: if the player is a child, only a parent or guardian should turn it on. If it is on, Firebase Analytics receives game events (for example, rows in a run, card chosen, ad watched, purchase made), language and technical data, with an installation identifier; and Firebase Crashlytics receives technical reports when the game crashes. They never include the advertising ID, a name, an email or the saved game, and they are not used for advertising. They help us fix errors and tune the game. Turning it off stops collection, deletes pending reports and resets the statistics identifier.
9. Sharing
If you tap SHARE, the phone's menu opens with a text and a link to the game. You choose with whom; we receive nothing.
10. Who the data is shared with
We have no server of our own: the data above goes directly from the device to Google (AdMob, Google Play, Play Games and Firebase), which processes it under its policies: policies.google.com/privacy. Google may process it in several countries, including the United States. We would only give data to an authority if a valid law or order required it.
11. How long data is kept
- On the phone: until cleared or until the game is uninstalled.
- Statistics (only if turned on): 2 months for event-level data.
- Crash reports (only if turned on): 90 days.
- Ads, purchases and Play Games: kept by Google under its policies and the account's settings.
- Emails you send us: up to 12 months after your request is resolved, unless the law requires longer.
12. Rights of parents, guardians and all players
A parent or guardian can ask us what is processed about their child, ask for it to be deleted and object to further processing. Every player has the rights their country grants: access, correction, deletion, objection, portability and withdrawing consent. These are recognized by, among others, COPPA (United States), the GDPR (European Union, with equivalents in the UK and Switzerland), the LGPD (Brazil) and Law 1581 of 2012 (Colombia).
Write to heystudioscolombia@gmail.com with the subject "Kitty Crossing data". Because we have no accounts and ask for no names, we generally have no way to link data to a specific child: we will explain what can be deleted and how, and reply as soon as possible within the legal deadline. You may also complain to your country's data protection authority. The steps are in Delete your data.
13. Security
Google's services use encrypted connections. The save on the phone is protected by the operating system, but the game does not encrypt it. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects personal data, we will report it as the law requires.
14. Changes
We will publish each new version here with its date. If a change affects children's data, we will announce it in the game and, where the law requires it, ask for the appropriate consent.
